Hoover Dam
Boulder City, NV 89005
The Hoover Dam is not only a popular tourist destination, but also a working power plant that serves over 1 million customers. The dam spans the Colorado River between Nevada and Arizona, creating Lake Mead, and generating around 4 billion kilowatt-hours of power every year. It was officially finished being built in 1935 and 112 people died during its construction. This stat may be why the dam is known to be quite haunted.
It's no surprise that there were deaths during the construction of the dam, many workers fell to their death and if this was the case, their bodies were permanently encased in the dam's more than 4 million cubic meters of concrete. There has also been suicides at the dam that may be responsible for some of the ghostly activity.
Some ghostly reports at The Hoover Dam include flickering electricity, cold spots, items that go missing and turn up elsewhere, and inexplicable equipment malfunctions. Tours are available at the dam daily.
