Located in Death Valley National Park about 5 miles outside of Beatty, Rhyolite is a ghost town in the Bullfrog Hills. It is about 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas and was a former boomtown. The town originated in the early 1900s after gold was discovered in the area. After some time, the town had over 5,000 people seeking the gold fortune, after it had originally been a small mining camp.

Some of those that have visited Rhyolite have reported witnessing a "brown shadow man" who they believe to be a former prospector that doesn't want to leave the town.
